One constant in E. European films is a group of... eccentrics. In most American films, slackers are kids, in these films, they're adults but they're not jaded, just pessimistic--- in a realistic way, if that makes any sense. My old philosophy professor probably would call them "absurdists."

Pessimistic with the reason. The young people in post-comunist countries don't have anything. The worst of all-no future. I am not saying it was better before. If that was the case I wouln't be here.
