The Good...
1. Well developed relationship between Kong and Anne Darrow...(some people in the audience openly wept at the ending)Response: There were some good moments. But to me it looked like Jackson took the Kong/Ann relationship from the 1976 film vs the relationship from the original.
2. Some BEAUTIFUL scenic shots...especially the ending with Kong on the Empire State Building...
Response: Agreed
3. Naomi Watts (the poor-man's Nicole Kidman)
Response: I thought Naomi was great as Ann
4. LOVED the overall look of the film!!!
Response: I thought most of the CGI was much too bright (white crush). I wonder how that is going to look on DVD?
5. Some great CGI scenes....especially the boat landing on Skull Island.
Response: Yeah the boat scene was good. But overall the CGI effects (dinosurs) were a big disappointment.
The Bad
1. Jack Black...he can play mediocre comedy...but was entirely miscast in this role!Response: Totally agree.
2. Someone explain to me who decided that Adrian Brody is a Leading man!!! Please... this guy has all the sexuality of a wet-noodle!
Response: I thought he was OK. Although I didn't like that Jackson changed the story line and make him a writer.
3. Can you say CGI....the dinosaur stampede and bug scenes were meaningless and didn't add depth to the story line other than 15-20 minutes of at best mediocre special effects!
Response: Agreed
4. Where did they dig up those natives!!!! THEY were scarier than Kong!!!!
Response: I thought the native scenes sucked. How about how they kidnapped Ann? Give me a break.
5. And finally...HEY Peter Jackson!!!! Can you tell a story in less than 3 hrs??? I didn't think so.....
Response: Not only that, but he took a great story and screwed it up with all his embellishments.
