Though the DVD cover says INGRID Bergaman this is clearly by INGMAR Bergman, something you can tell from the gitgo. A mixture of Bach and Scandanavian angst, the film revists the characters in Bergman's 1973 mini-series, "Scenes Fro A Marriage" and adds two more, the 51 year ld son of the husband and the husband'd granddaughter, an up and coming cellist. The husband is rich but has a tortuous relationship with his son, who insists on coaching his daughter's cello work. While watching, I was again struck by how much Bergman's style has influenced Woody Allen. This is supposedly Bergman's last film. Recommended.
