Agreed, a fascinating, almost trance-like love film.
The score is beautiful.
Follow Ups:
imperceptively are moved from one heart-felt scene to another. No filler, no art for art's sake shots.
The result is that Wai can deliver a much heavier, fuller-storied feature than other filmmakers. Also, his style of cutting from one confusingly framed shot to another allows him more deliberately to pace the film than others: the viewer pays rapt attention or soon is lost.
