Summer, Fall, Winter..." (or whatever is that exact title).
A pleasant, very passive young man sits day after day in a city park sketching quick-draw portraits for an abusive, unappreciative clientele. Wandering away from his open air studio, and followed by a woman filming his movements, he embarks on a journey of violent (extremely so) retribution directed at those previously who offended him.
Is the young man imagining all this? Is there a limit to how much a person can endure before the cumulative effect of all the anger directed at him reasonably can be expected to cause a cathartic explosion?
As usual with this director (Ki-duk Kim), disturbing questions are not answered yet their framing is seductive. Good performances, editing, and an odd sense of humor make for an excellent entertainment.
