In Reply to: Kadosh is a great film, one that's objective and not a slam. -nt- posted by Donald on May 1, 2006 at 07:15:52:
Donald,You're too busy attending Hamas events or cheering on suicide bombers.
Ever been to Mea Shearim? Of course not.
Amos Gitai took a shot at something that he really didn't understand that well and made a very flawed film.
As an Orthodox Jew (minus the black hat and beard), I did find that some things were accurate, but that others were absurd (nobody shouts like that in synagogue, nor do they pray like that).
He hates the Haredim in Jerusalem and made a film about it.
The lead actor (the husband) was the most realistic character.
Also...where were the kids?
Mea Shearim and the Haredim who live there have a bus load of children.
Average film.

...and then blow it all with such foolishness as you outline above. And, usually, needlessly!Take the finale of The Graduate. They're supposedly heading over the bridge to Berkeley... but we're on the Golden Gate Bridge! Even here in Boston (where I saw it) we had to laugh.
OK, that's scenery. But you know what I mean.
