"Odd", because while I had been told that the DC was longer and better, and expected to be released on DVD, "this initial DVD release is the shortest and last of Malick's cuts -- only 135 minutes -- but it holds together so perfectly, any additional scenes or shots are rendered unnecessary." Key word: "initial".

So now do I wait for a big-screen re-presentation of the *short cut*? (Hey! That phrase has a ring to it...)
