Depardieu leads his crew (including M. Hallyday) on a bumbling out of country caper at the behest of Richard Bohringer to Chicago. Their "easy caper" turns into a twisted mixup involving capo Keitel of the Chicago mob, the FBI, an alluring female, and the need to get out of town fast. (Noticeably, as in most foreign film, the Americans are laughable exaggerations or caricatures.)

The opening sequence is pure Blake Edwards with it's bumbling humor and makes me wonder who came first: the real French or Clouseau? The first 12 to 15 minutes is in French before shifting to English once in Chicago. This film is not a great movie but it does provide chuckles, a few good laughs, and is generally a pleasant 1:45 minutes.
