Saw this one on DVD over the weekend, really, really good. The best space program documentary I have seen. These are the stories that the Dogs tell when the fires burn high and the wind is from the north.
Follow Ups:
This is a favorite of mine, as well. I bought it first on VHS (it was originally put out by National Geographic). It was then sold to Criterion, as is now on DVD, which I now have. It is indeed the best footage I have seen on the moon landings. The music fits it beautifully. Some of the music is available on Brian Eno's album 'Apollo'. This disk is a must have for any fan of the space program.
Agreed. I just recently got the Criterion disc on sale. Having grown up during the Space Race, I have a fondness for that exciting, heroic era. The film quite nicely merges film footage, astronauts' narratives, and Eno's music.
