I just watched this movie which stars Ewan McGregor and Tilda Swinton. It was directed by David Mackenzie, whose work is new to me.In short, I loved it. It has wonderful performances and (gasp!) a decent narrative. What stands out is its original style and its understated intensity. It's not for the faint hearted (I think Victor would have a fit if he saw it) as it's quite saucy (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) in places. It reminds me of a Thomas Hardy novel.
Anyone else seen it? Did you think it was a minor masterpiece?
Cheers. Doug

I also very much enjoyed this film. Why is not Tilda Swinton in more films? It was also nice to see Ewan McGregor in a smaller film after all the blockbusters he has been in recently. A small film, worth seeking out.
Yes I saw it and think it was nicely understated with realistic sets and dialogue. I was an interesting story and the lifestyle they lived added to the movie. I really like Tilda Swinton and Ewan McGregor is very good too.So yes I agree it is well worth checking out. I do not know enough about movies to declare anything a minor masterpiece but it worked for me.
