That seems to be the general consensus of all of the reviews I've read. 2006 has been a disappointing year for Asian cinema.

Follow Ups:
Well, maybe a disappointing year for big-budget Chinese/HK movies, but there were a bunch of rewarding movies, including "City of Violence." I haven't had this much fun watching a movie since "Kill Bill v.1."
There just hasn't been alot of new movies out of Asia that really made me want to go out and buy them, and the few that did disappointed. I am looking forward to Fearless, and maybe The Host. Last year, Korea was popping out great movies right and left, this year, only a few. Maybe its just me.
