"As a good story sticking to the truth do not make automatically a good film."There are different reasons to see a film. One reason is to see history dramatized, and hopefully to learn some insight previously unknown. Downfall succeeds in that the viewer learns of historical events which were previously unknown. Those were its goals, and I would argue, is good because it acheived those goals, which no other film on the subject accomplished, save for the documentary on which it is based.
Follow Ups:
There are books, and there is this film with sir Alec...
When I see a film I wish and hope that it is good. And I am not satisfied with something less.
Even if from some interesst.
It is a documentary and not a " film " then...
