Films/DVD Asylum

There was a cartoon movie (award winner?) from the early 70s. History of Man? History of the World? It followed the earth from fire, to the dawn of man, through his evolution, to the final fire. The little caveman guy had a pet snake. His wife called him Poopsie ("Don't call me poopsie").

Anyone know what this is?
