THis has my vote as one of the best (serious) films I've seen in a while. That's probably not saying much since I can't recall the last "serious" film I've seen (After the likes of "Eragon" and Casino Royale"). I don't know how close it hits home, but it does bring up some very interesting subject matter concerning the exploitation of African resources (e.g. diamonds).
Everything about this movie hit all my buttons. I'm not a big Leonardo fan but in this role, he doesn't actually have to act too much to look like the reserved, cynical, cold-blooded diamond smuggler.

Set against the self-righteous background violence and slavery. Not one of the characters was worth saving.
