I didn't say a lot. I did **like** a lot about this film, and my main complaint was certain one-dimensionality of the conflict. Pretty soon the outcome becomes clear and there is no longer any mystery. I wish it was more expanded, broadened.Like I said, this is not a major issue. The lead actor was good, quite convincing, and the atmosphere real.
Follow Ups:
is one of its jewels (and speaking of jewels, it's the mother country of emeralds; the gold and leather work is also among the world's finest).
For thirty years, I've waited for the violence to subside so I could re-visit. I have waited in vain.
From the nonpareil Andean peaks to the Amazonian jungles to the pristine stretches of coast...Colombia has it all.
Unfortunately, as the film makes clear, it also has unrelenting and senseless violence, all of it driven by the cocaine cartel.
My wife kept repeating - "look how beautiful it is!"One has to feel pity towards the people who have to live in those conditions.
