I especially liked the story, in the deleted scenes, about his brother Bilo. About how, to get rid of the demon in Bilo's head, they opened his skull and put the tooth of a red heded woman in it, like that was such a standard operating procedure at home. Of course it didn't help and Bilo was now a retard. The look of restrained incredulity on the Doctor's face was very nice IMHO.

Those Kazhaks' have very strange beliefs.
