Therebare the obvious examples of those whose synergy with the camera pops off the screen, such as Gable, Monroe, and Bogie in ehe past. I would add Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood. Currently, Chris Cooper comes to mind. Rachel McAdams has something. How about Max von Sydow? Liam Neeson? Gerard Depardieu? Juse Law? Sean Penn?
Follow Ups:
,,,great quiet power! I thought of the others, too.As for McAdams, I'll pay closer attention.
Chris Cooper....A great craftsman. I appreciate him most in his quirky roles, like the renegade orchid hunter in that film with Meryl Streep. Can't remember the name of the film offhand.
Monica Vitti, Alain Delon, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum, Anna Magnani. Chaplin. Gary Oldman. Christopher Walken.
The Cooper film is "Adaptation", where screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and his (purely fictional) twin brother (both played by Nicholas Cage) try to adapt an unadaptable book called "The Orchid Thief).I first noticed Rachel McAdams in "The Notebook", where she stole the show. Prior to that she was in "mean Girls" and after that "Red Eye" and "Wedding Crashers". For such a young actor she has quite a range.
