These sketches, four all together, are inequal.
The weakest is the Rome one to my taste.
Begnini is just too much, that old Jarmusch pal!
But all are to some degree fun.And Tom Waits is anyway worth the trip.
Wonderful " kaputt " music.
Follow Ups:
I thought each vignette captured the feel of the city, even if it was exaggerated. The Begnini certainly was over the top. I loved how each story did not really resolve but just trailed off in the Tom Waits soundtrack with the characters stuck in their situations. It certainly showed that "we choose our own prisons".
