No but it did give some to Besson! She told later he was in love...
Yes she is very erotical and that is without doubt also the director work.
It is an allegory.
Both start innocent and goes through live, both are going to have the pain of live marked in their flesh until redemption. ( Death )If this one is not enough for you try " Mouchette " but to of a kind may be too much...A friend of mine commit suicide after the second.
Call that redemption!
Follow Ups:
I am now eager to see more of his work. I've added Pickpocket to my list thanks to tin. I'll also add Mouchette.I can understand Bresson being in love with her... and that also explains some of the luminosity she has in this film (I'm sure it's hers but he saw it and captured it wonderfully).
She was only ever in five films and is also an author and was married to Godard for a while (but you probably already know that).
I do see the Donkey/JC thing but I also didn't really see it in regards to the film... meaning that aspect didn't come to life for me (though Balthazar as Saintly did).
Pickpocket is excellent, and do not forget to make a search here as most films have been much talk about.
