I am now eager to see more of his work. I've added Pickpocket to my list thanks to tin. I'll also add Mouchette.I can understand Bresson being in love with her... and that also explains some of the luminosity she has in this film (I'm sure it's hers but he saw it and captured it wonderfully).
She was only ever in five films and is also an author and was married to Godard for a while (but you probably already know that).
I do see the Donkey/JC thing but I also didn't really see it in regards to the film... meaning that aspect didn't come to life for me (though Balthazar as Saintly did).
