I have a question. The DVD "Traffic" has an official release date of May 29, 2001. If you ordered it before this date, it cannot be shipped to you until May 29. If you try to rent it from a video store, it's not available until May 29. Then how come I was able to rent this DVD one week earlier (May 22) at this little mom & pop video store, when the bigger chains like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video didn't have them yet????How is this possible?
Follow Ups:
They cheated. They got their's and made a decision to start renting early instead of keeping them in the back room for another week. Blockbuster/Hollywood figure they are too closely scrutinized to take a chance on renting early so they don't.Stop and think about it,you don't really think the big stores didn't have them do you ? The stdio truck does not run around like Santa delivering on release date eve.

Thanks for your response. I kinda suspected that but I was hoping there was an answer that allowed them to do this LEGALLY.Well, this same video store put out (for rental) the new "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" DVD 3 days ago even though the official release date is June 5. I suspect that they release videos as they receive them from their supplier, without regard to the official release dates.
