I saw it more as Song of the South, perhaps Disney's greatest movie -- for proof, look no further than that it is effectively banned in our Politically Correct world.

If you haven't seen SotS, it concerns a young lad very much misunderstood and essentially unloved by his (white-bread) parents, who is taken under wing by a smart (black) dude.
