It's mostly character development. William's growth into a journalist and traveling companion on Stillwater's tour is more fluid and the viewer is provided with a better understanding of what motivates all of the central characters. There are LOTS of extras in this edition as well, including commentaries, original screenplay, concert footage, etc.; it's a cornucopia of DVD goodies!
