He is VERY good, but I certainly would not say that he was even either. Some of his work was just OK. Penelope was good there but still not much of an actress, you take away her appearance (responsible for about 80% of that role's success) and below there is not much.

I loved "Mother" and I always loved his treatment of RED RED RED RED. When the transfer is good and display right it is mesmerizing.

But Pedro is still no Bunuel and never will be, as his texture is just too light. He is no philosopher.
