Saw #1 on late night TV around 20 years ago; thought I was watching "Rat Fink A Boo Boo" until I recognized the young Jon Voight and Ken Nordine's constant narration. I tell people about this goofy superhero film and nobody else believes it exists.Own a VHS copy of #2 (a must-see when I was in high school, because it showed...uh...number two). #4 is a cult classic for drive-in redneck viewing. Remembered seeing #5 and enjoying the music. Don't think I've seen #3.
Ever see "Lord Love A Duck"?
Follow Ups:
LORD LOVE A DUCK with Tuesday Weld, Roddy MacDowell, and Ruth Gordon? Not as weird as FEARLESS FRANK (few things are) or HAROLD AND MAUDE (which is a great film) but still strange. I liked it but not enough that much of it sticks. Except for the fact that the sound crew should have been sacked for the amatuerish job they did. The dialogue sounds like it was recorded on a $12 K-Mart cassette recorder, especially Ruth Gordon's voice. Or maybe it was the print I saw. Nah, since I saw it Philadelphia and then again, 20 years later, in Oregon. Couldn't be the same print.
...that we have to go to independent film festivals to see new oddball films like these, as the studios aren't making weird or experimental films anymore?
