Are any of you seeing this? The two closest Blockbuster stores to my home have dramatically reduced their selection of non-new releases.
Tried to pick up Around the World in 80 days....nutin....not Niven or Brosnan.
Then looked for Pride & Prejudice (the wonderful BBC/A&E version)...nutin
Now I have rented these at Blockbuster before....several times.
Curiosity piqued, I started looking....
Monty Python & the Holy Grail....Nutin
Arsenic & Old Lace.....nope
Rope......uh -uh.
Magnificent Seven...not here either.
and the kicker.....To Catch a Thief....nowhere in sight!
What gives! These are all titles I have rented from this place before.
In answer to my own question, I suspect the shelf space being rapidly absorbed by DVDs requires them to slough off slow rentals. What a shame.
Is it the same in you neck of the woods?
Rob
Follow Ups:
Same here. They only had about six, two-sided rows of semi-oldie oldies of DVD.In fact, when my wife and myself walked into the store, they had half of the whole store of empty racks!
Maybe they know something, we dont ?
I'm on my two week trial...so far I like it.
