Is there a special cable that I could purchase that makes makes use of my GameCube's Digital AV output (not the analog AV) and displaying it on my computer monitor? Better yet, is there one that can switch between the GameCube's and the PC's?

Believe me I've looked into it, and the answer is no, unless you're willing to fork over about $400. Liksang.com will sell you an S-video to VGA adapter which doesn't take advantage of the hi res output nor does it convert the scan rate, in short it looks like garbage. You can buy a set of component cables for your game(less)cube and then use a component to VGA box from Key Digital, that would work nicely and be at full 640X480 resolution, it's just cost prohibitive.I've been playing my dreamcast on a 17" VGA monitor, the same I'm using with my CPU as a matter of fact, and I can say that even the finest TV looks pathetic in comparison.
I wanted very much to be able to use my cube with the same monitor and was excited to see a D-Video cable output (in Japan) but it just won't work. As much as I would love to play my GC on my monitor I'm not going to spend $400 on cables and adapters for a $200 system
