I've heard alot about how some DVD players have lousy audio performance vs. a quality CD player (laser differences??). I currently own a Sony X229-ES which does a wonderful job on audio CDs. Any way I'm looking to purchase a DVD player that will function 70/30 as a CD player in a Magnepan / SS monoblock based system. Any suggestions on moderate cost players (CD-R playback is desired) that would serve my purpose as a great CD source that happens also to play movies well? Has anyone heard or owns a NAD T-531?? Any opinions?? Thanks

Have you got any clearance about this?I'm also thinking about the NAD T531, but I do not want it to be the weakest link in my system when it comes to audio (probably the main usage).
I have a NAD C350 and a pair of B&W 602.
All suggestions and comments are greately appreciated.
