You need to make sure the video switcher is HD capable or the picture will not look nearly as good. It needs to have a bandwidth of atleast 35Hz. Alot of reciever's and switcher say they are HD compatible just because it will pass the signal thru, it makes your HD picture look like a 480p picture. I know, I bought a switcher that didn't end up working out because of these reasons. Good luck.
