Good p-scan players can out perform the Iscan Pro by quite a margin. Sony's 9000ES is pretty much behind in p-scan technogy though it still performs quite good in 480i mode. Go for something with DCDi chip like the Philips 962SA (with SACD, very good audio performance) or Pioneer 47A with 12bit 108Hz Video DAC ( with SACD/DVD-A, not so stong in audio performance) if you insist to have DVD-A. Both player can easily better the 9000ES in p-scan mode.

Really, I want to use this for Video only. I have an alternate cd player. I just want to get the most out of my TV.
Then, if you prefer video like, high contrast/brightness, go for the Pioneer. Or if you like film like, natural color and smooth picutre, go for the Philips 962sa. If you want the best, get the Krell DVD Standard which actually use the same DCDi chip as the Philips.
