I'm using a Sanyo LCD projector connected to a Panasonic RP56 using
the component video input. The colors are fine with S-video and composite, but when using the component video, the color accuracy is
way off. I used the color test on the Terminator 2 THX disc and
I can't see the difference between red/magenta bars (both look red) and the green/blues look pale greenish...basically nothing looks
right on this screen. This can't be changed significantly by
adjusting the color/tint/brightness/contrast controls on the projector. For reference, when the Panasonic splash screen comes up (with no DVD in) it looks black and white when it should look blue. So, is the problem in the DVD player, projector or cable???
I tried every combination of cable hookup so I don't think the cable
ends are "mis-labeled".Thanks for any help...

Gee, it sounds an awful lot like you have a problem with your blue channel (as in that it's not there)!!Since you tried switching the cable around, it sounds as though there's a bad connection INSIDE your DVD player or projector. Try swapping the red & blue jacks, at one end of your cable. If you still don't get any blue, then it's a problem with your projector. If you do get blue, then it's your player.
Let's hope that the warranty period isn't expired, on whichever it is!
