One sleeper is the Philips Q50. Do a search on the net for more info. There were a few software problems with early release players but they seem to have been sorted out now. Reports suggest the Q50 is far better than players costing 4X as much.

I suggest you do a seach on the AVS forum for more info on those players you cited.
