I would go further and advise against NTSC. Done properly it can be fine but PAL is a better system IMHO so buy a PAL unit. If the NTSC is appealingly cheap then there is a good reason for it.John

Steven Soderbergh's new film "Full Frontal" was shot using three PAL format Canon XL-1s mini DV cameras. The increased resolution and closer to film frame rate were no doubt factors in the decision.
