...Toshiba's SD-3750!Picture is cleaner, brighter, and better black level than my old Sony piece of CRAP DVP-S360 (said Sony died, as did thousands out there!).
The sound seems tighter and more focus and depth (even with digital out to DTS and DD- less jitter? Hmmm...).
It has a progressive output (not able to use yet, but that 16x9 set is just around the corner)
It plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs!
It cost about half the price of the Sony when it first came out!Just an FYI for those of you that contributed advice- THANKS GUYS (AND GIRLS!)

when you say CD-R's and CD-RW's; does this mean it will play (video) avi, mpg's files as well as (audio) mp3, wave etc. thanks in adv.
I don't know about AVI and computer based files (and I am too lazy to go down stairs to look at the manual!), but yes, it will play MP-3 as well as V-CD format discs.
Otherwise, this player is astounding unit and durably built for the coin, IMHO!
