I have shortlisted a few progressive DVD players for consideration and am looking for opinions and recommendations. I am looking for a player to output progressive, no chroma bug, good chipset, 3:2 pulldown, etc. at a price up to around $400.00. Also I have a Mitsubishi 16x9 55", how important is finding a player with aspect control. Will the progressive output default the TV to a specific
format and override the TV's format choices, (expand, zoom, etc.)On the list now:
Panasonic RP-56
Sony DVPS700P
Toshiba 5700Appreciate any additions and comments to the list.
Thanks
Follow Ups:
No chroma bug means scratch the Sony and Toshiba players from the list.It depends on what model your Mits TV is. The 2000(I think) and later model TVs allow access to expand/zoom etc.
Older ones locked, so that none of these modes were available when sent a 480p signal.
You should also consider the Panasonic RP-91 which can do zoom for you if the TV locks with 480p input. It is available for between $400 and $500.
Regards,
.
