I'm about to take advantage of all that home run coax I ran when building my house... I want to be able to distribute video through out the house from all the sources in my Basement home theater system - 2 sat rcvrs, vcr, etc. it looks like the device to use is a channel modulator, takes any video source and up converts to to a UHF or Cable channel... Anybody out there have experience with these? They run several hundred buck and some seam to pass dolby stereo - others do not.I feel like a fish out of water in this field.
Thx.

You don't want to centralize that way. Use the coax to distribute raw signal, and buy duplicate set top boxes (etc) where they are needed. One thing that can and should be centralized is internet access. But you'll want to distribute that via cat5, not coax.
