Here is what my dealer just sent me on the AVP Update:
I just received the information about the AVP-2 update.

Updates will begin the end of this Month
There are two or three choices
1) Field update done in store which doesn't include a new faceplate is
2495.00
2) Send to factory for update with new face plate is 2795.00 plus freight
3) a +6 version available in July that will acept 6 channel direct inputs
like dvd audio or multichannel sacd- additional 995
4) There also will be an available option ( no price yet) for a CVP-2
outboard component video switcher and upconvertor for s and composite out of
avp
5) all updates carry a new five year warranty.

I agree. Lots of money. What to do? Start over or spend more money on the old avp? I feel like it is good money after bad. I like the unit, but Holy Cow for expenseive.
