Need "bass management" advice re Denon AVR1600 receiver

Hi all,
Reshuffling some modest home theatre gear, and an audio question has arisen.
What is the frequency rage of the audio signal going to the rear speakers through a Denon Surround Receiver, model AVR1600?
Trying to decide whether to use a pair of LS3/5a's, or Energy Reference Conniseurs for the rears, or vice-versa. Also have a Sunfire sub in the system.
Is the signal to the rears bandwidth - limited?

The answer is "it depends". For digital sources, if defined as small, a crossover will be applied (don't recall if its 80 or 120Hz).
For large, it will send full range info.
Analog sources that are redigitized get the same bass management strategy.
