You want tubes at that price? That will be next to impossible unless you investigate the used market. Even then, I have serious reservations that you would be able to hit the price point. For HT, with 88dB sensitivity speakers I'd say you'll want a minimum of 100wpc, with more than that being better.
750 per stereo pair would mean a budget of around $1800 / 2000 for 5 channels.
I would give a serious consideration to heading over to UBid to check out an Aragon 8008x5 amplifier, which is being sold off by Klipsch to make room for the new cosmetics units.
This will do a very good job, and the 8008 circuit is great sounding.

Perhaps I'm just gonna stick with good solid state.
The reason why I was interested in tubes because I thought I could use the push pull tubes made by Antique Sound Labs, Jolida, and Golden Tube Audio. I want a 6.1 system not 5.1.
Understood -- I just don't think you can make your budget constraints, and get the output you need to drive your speakers to a sufficient level. If you are willing to sacrifice some ultimate SPL, you might be able to find something on the used market that will take care of the task for you, but it will be difficult.
Look for either 3 Aragon 8008s, or 2 8008x3s as an alternative to the 8008x5.
