I looked at the Laserdisc Archive, and they had one each 500 and 550 series Samsung LD players listed that they were guessing to be based on a Pioneer model. However, both were karaoke players, apparently unlike the Samsung player you are looking at.Todd

Correct not a Karaoke machine. I am not a fan of Karaoke. Brings images of Japanese gangster movies to mind. Scary. Basically I figure if I can get a LD player for $50 Canadian ($25us)that would be a real deal, even if it died after a few months.
