  It's not that the Ref30 is a bad piece of hardware. B&K is slow, slow, slow to release any upgrades. To top that off, they are wholly uncommunicative with respect to their plans. It took > 1 year to put together a Ref20 --> Ref 30 upgrade package.

  They may or may not release an upgrade for the Ref 30, they may or may not be working on a Ref 40 which would release, maybe before the Ref 30 upgrade.

  The analog stage of the Ref 30 is lacking a bit in comparison to some other similar priced products like the Anthem AVM-20 and Classe` SSP-30.

  In terms of what I'm replacing it with? For the moment, a receiver with preamp outs while I figure out which preamp/processor is the right one for me.
