One thing you will soon find is that your rate limiting factor in quality of audio and video IS cabling and clean power (AC conditioning) as much (or more so) than the differences from one piece of equipment to another (sans the really $$$$ stuff)....If you are satisfied with the performance of the cables you get from Radio Shack then don't bother with anything better.... Be forwarned, if you DO decide to go for a better set of cables, you WILL find yourself spending much money on better and better ones because you will become like the rest of people that were once non-believers laughing in dissbelief of people willing to spend $$$$ on cables and ac power conditioning. If you are handy enough to change the AC receptacle in your wall or have done ANY soldering at all then....i would HIGHLY recommend you looking at one of many DIY cables on this board (Jon Risch, Max Rochlin, Chris VH, etc..) they are very cost effective and compete head-to-head with any cable i have had in my own system.... I have a pair of Au24 ICs that cost about 250.00 dollars and sound about the same as the DIY i have made.....
