Why do I need to route my video signal through my pre amp ? I need one more cable and signals are passing through longer path with more distortion/degradation. Is not it better to connect the DVD player directly to the TV/projector ?Why would I do that ?
Thanks

The question is not stupid. Yes, connecting your DVD directly to the TV will give you a better picture. Why route through a pre-amp/receiver? To be able to take advantage of the built in switching. The switching would allow you to use multiple sources, switched by the pre/receiver to one input on your TV/projector.
