Video Asylum

I just discovered this today. I had ordered a Panasonic S machine but after a 6 week wait have been told they are not able to supply and there is no replacement listed which is on the way.

So I guess Panasonic are going to produce machines like JVC have which not only handle s-video tape but also have a 40 gig hard drive in them.

The complexity of a normal VCR is bad enough, add s-video and it is more complicated so a 40 gig hard drive on top looks like a reliability nightmare. Anybody know?
