Now that DVD burners are coming down in price and my computer needs replacing, is there a software package that allows you to read in a dvd to your hard drive as an mpeg file (1,2 or 3?) and then burn it to a dvd recordable disc without further compression or D2A and back conversion, and have it play on your stand alone dvd player connected to your tv or projector of choice? In other words, just like a cd ripper/burner program such as Roxio, Adaptec, EZ cd creator, Exact Copy, etc.
Follow Ups:
Most DVD these days are dual layer, and won't fit as-is on a DVD-R.Why do you want to burn them, anyway? Just keep them on your hard drive until you get tired of them. (Or buy a copy).
you don't need to rip, just copy...you loose no quality.... anyone will do, i prefer Nero burning ROM the best!Sam
