check the DVD players setup, on most Sony models you must select the output type to get the thing to work at first.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to fiddle with the DVD player's setup menu. What I don't understand is, if routed through the Sig 2, I get no audio from the DVD player's analog outs, but if routed directly through my power amp, I get audio from CDs. One other thing I found out is that the test tone generator has no output either. So the problem seems to lie with the Sig 2. Software glitch?
