The Sony TA-E9000ES is still available. Best all around processor for the $$ out there (that is if you only require 5.1 which is all you need-trust me). Also does not have analog pass thru for SACD or DVD-A but again, who cares! Can be found used at audiogon.com for $750 range and new for not much more these days (MSRP was $1700). Make sure it has firmware of 2.01 or 2.5 - makes a "huge" difference. There is also a tremendous forum for this processor (set up tips from it's UK guru DJay) which will make it sound like many thousand $$$ rivals.http://pub106.ezboard.com/faussiedvdandhtforumsonytae9000esinformationforum
The Outlaw is a good choice also but the forum support of the Sony is hard to beat. Really, you will get 90% of the performance of many of the top brands for less than a grand! Can't really go wrong. It's replacement is coming (E10) but has been delayed and will be $3000+
so I say go for it!
