Hi,
A question from a newbie !I am thinking of buying a receiver for KEF Q1s for HT setup. Have been looking at various receivers, these are the top three so far:
- Marantz SR7200
- Denon AVR3802
- Onkyo TX-DS696Any suggestions?
Seem to be reading a lot about Marantz reliability problems on the Internet, however local dealers are very positive about it. With KEF Q1s sounded very nice.
Onkyo didn't perhaps sound as nice as Marantz (perhaps a tad bright), however have a feature that I think might be very useful, i.e. Composite to S-Video conversion. Is it any good? and is it worth having?
Haven't heard Denon with the KEFs yet, however keep reading about all the rewards it has won on the internet.
Any suggestions?
cheers,
Ritesh

I use the Marantz SR-5200 with my Kef Q1's & it's sonics are excellent. The best way to appreciate the Marantz is is the 6 channel mode where all 5 speakers are used(& sonically right) also the dolby pro-logic II mode is great for cd playback.
The system:
Kef Q1's fr.
Sonus Faber Picolo solo (C)
Sonus Faber walls (R)
Infinity Sub
Marantz SR-5200 receiver
Elite DV-47a universal player
Monster M-series audio/speaker cables
