Video Asylum

I've been following the furor over at avsforum and I'm really curious about the new 437 & 507 DLPs. I've seen the Panny LCDs - very sharp, detailed pictures but not good enough blacks for me. (I can only imagine what Blade Runner and Dark City would look like on this display.)

Not a DLP in sight in Indianapolis...Did you see the Samsungs at CES or the recent show in NY? If you did, any thoughts? I'm very curious about the blacks & shadow detail.

I've been interested in DLP for a while, hope these sets get to market - Samsung would really be on to something. The price seems great, plus no burn in, no CRTs, shallow depth, light in weight. The LYYCoS Toshiba will probably be fabulous, but at 9K, it's way beyond my reach.
