In Reply to: Needs Some Preamp Advise between Rotel 1066 and Outlaw 950 posted by etap on August 07, 2002 at 18:23:53:
I was from the March waiting list for the 950 and pulled the trigger on a silver 1066 in June (waited only 1 week for delivery at the time)... also got a silver RMB-1075 (you can never discount pretty blue lights). I wish I could have demoed the 950, but even with their delivery re-start, who knows when they will get to the May list. Depending on your speakers, the Rotel will be slightly on the warm side, which suits me just fine since I'm running Triangle Titus 202's.
Follow Ups:
I'm purchasing the Rotel RSP-1066/RMB-1075 combo deafly (why say blindly, I've seen'em in brochures just never heard'em). They are due into my dealer on 9/7 and they're replacing my Musical Fidelity A3 Integrated Amp as I blend my 2-ch system into the Home Theater system I'm building. When all is said and done it will look like this:Mitsubishi WS-55859 HDTV
Rotel RSP-1066 Pre/Pro
Rotel RMB-1075 Power Amp
Rega Planet 2000 CD Player
Panasonic DVD-RP32 DVD Player
Sony MDS-JB920 MiniDisc Deck
Sony Tape Deck
Sony Tuner
Philips CDR-600 CD Recorder
Sony PS2
Sony VCR
Vienna Acoustics Mozart (Front)
Vienna Acoustics Maestro (Center)
Vienna Acoustics Haydn (Rear)
Velodyne CT-120 (Sub)
I was/am concerned about the 2-ch quality of the Rotel combo compared to my MF integrated. How do you like your's with music?
